Morning Ritual Recipes

Depending on the amount of cacao you like to drink, you can choose different amounts for your liking. For more information on serving sizes go to the preparation and serving page. All of our recipes are based on a healthy daily dose of 25-30g.

Please note that some experts do not recommend having the ceremonial dose (42 grams or over) of cacao more than 3 times per week.

Cacao with Optional Sweeteners & Spices

  • 25-30 grams of Jasper Ceremonial Cacao (Chopped)
  • 200-230 ml of hot water (not boiling)
  • * Optional – sweetener to taste (such as agave, honey, or syrup)
  • * Optional – a punch of spice, such as cayenne, chilli, ginger or cinnamon

Simply blend or whisk all of the ingredients together for 30 seconds or untill smooth, light and bubbly and enjoy your warming morning Cacao.

Optionally, you can add herbal powder such as medicinal mushrooms, maca, ashwagandha, or another herb.

Check with a naturopath or herbalist to see what herbs can be good for you to use. 

Cacao with Cinnamon and Dates

  • 25-30 grams of Jasper Ceremonial Cacao (chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 Medjool date (pitted and chopped)
  • Pinch of salt (sea salt or Himalayan salt) 
  • 200-230 ml of hot water (not boiling)

Or

  •  200-230 ml of hot plant-based milk (oat, almond, coconut etc.) 

Simply blend or whisk all of the ingredients together for 30 seconds or until smooth, light and bubbly and enjoy your warming morning Cacao.

Iced Cacao

Add each of the following ingredients to a blender:

  • 25-30 grams of Jasper Ceremonial Cacao (chopped) 
  • 1-2 tablespoons of sweetener (honey, syrup, agave)
  • 100 ml of hot water (not boiling)

Blend for 10 seconds to create a paste, before adding approximately 12 ice cubes to the blender. Blend again until it is smooth.

Ceremony Recipes

For cacao ceremonies, usually you would drink an increased amount of cacao compared to morning ceremonies. Some experts do not recommend having the ceremonial dose of cacao more than 3 times per week.

Meditation Ceremony

  • 28–42 grams of Jasper Ceremonial Cacao Paste (chopped)
  • 200 millilitres of hot water (not boiling)

For a more traditional experience, heat the water in a pot on the stove, once hot add the chopped cacao and whisk. Alternatively, mix in a blender for a more thick, creamy and bubbly drink.

Cacao and Spices

  • 28 – 42 grams of Jasper Ceremonial Cacao Paste (chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of cayenne or chilli 
  • Pinch of salt (sea salt or Himalayan salt)
  • 200 millilitres of hot water (not boiling)

For a more traditional experience, heat the water in a pot on the stove, once hot add the chopped cacao and whisk till incorporated then add all of your spices and salt, mix again till smooth. Alternatively, mix all of your ingredients in a blender for a more thick, creamy and bubbly drink.

Heart Opener

  • 28–42 grams of Jasper Ceremonial Cacao Paste (chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 Mejool date (pitted and chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon of organic edible dried rose petals – alternatively, instead of rose petals you can use rose powder or 1 cup of rose tea
  • 200 millilitres of hot water (not boiling)

For a more traditional experience, heat the water in a pot on the stove, once hot add the chopped cacao, rose, and cinnamon then whisk till incorporated, sprinkle with chopped dates.

Alternatively, mix all of your ingredients in a blender for a more thick, creamy and bubbly drink.
