Our Criollo Cacao is carefully sourced from the Asháninka Tribes and farming communities nestled in Satipo, within the heart of the Peruvian rainforest.
Farmers cultivate this crop using organic practices, honoring ceremonial ritual farming and ancestral traditions passed down through generations.
The Criollo bean, featured in our ceremonial paste, stands out as one of the finest varieties for ceremonial cacao. Renowned for its rich historical and spiritual significance, it boasts high levels of Theobromine and is celebrated for its exceptional nutritional profile, delightful taste, and captivating aroma.
These beans are incredibly rare, representing only 3% of the global cacao bean production, making them highly coveted and sought after.

Use ceremonial cacao in your everyday life for energy and nourishment:

How does it taste?

There's a number of great reasons to choose our Cacao, whether you're trying out its fantastic medicinal properties for the first time, or you're considering switching from another brand:

- It has received EU BIO, NOP and COR certifications for its organic production.
- The raw cacao is produced at temperatures never exceeding 42 degrees Celsius, preserving its natural flavours and nutritional qualities.
Preparation & Serving
To prepare your Cacao in drink form, first cut the cacao into finely chopped small pieces. The size of the chopped-up cacao should be small pieces that are approximately one quarter of an inch. It can also be smaller than this but shouldn’t be bigger than this.
Once the cacao is chopped up, you can now add hot water to it and then use a whisk or preferably and hand blitzer to emulsify the cacao and water together to form a silky and bubbly liquid. Please note the water “should not” be boiling because the cacao could lose some of its nutrients. It needs to be approximately 60° C.
You can experiment with the cacao to see how much water you would like to add to the cacao. If you would like it to be thicker, you wouldn’t add as much water.
So how much should you use? Follow our guidelines below using a small scale, teaspoon or measuring cup:
Small: 5 - 10 grams
This is a small amount of cacao, for beginners.
This amount is recommended for people who are new to drinking cacao and for those who do not usually drink caffeine.
It can be used as a way to micro dose cacao. Some people use micro doses everyday, for example micro doses of cacao in the mornings.
Medium: 10 to 25 grams
This amount can be used for people who are more used to drinking cacao or caffeine products.
You will notice some of the stimulating and heart opening effects.
Large: 25 - 35 grams
This amount is used when someone is wanting to increase their creativity or to meditate.
Someone could take this amount during retreats before mild aerobic activity such as dancing or yoga.
This is a dose that could be given at a cacao ceremony. It can open the heart and bring a release.

- Although there is no set amount we advise no more than 52g of raw cacao in total per day. We offer advisory portion sizes but essentially you must see what works for you.
- For a Drink: 25-30g of Cacao to 200ml of water is our take on a perfect cacao drink.

Beautiful, potent cacao! I had been drinking cacao daily for over a year, feeling the full heart opening qualities. Then I attended an event with Shane and tasted his cacao which is very different, it took me on an important journey of visualisation and release during the ceremony. I feel it helped me to complete a journey of expressing and releasing grief and to heal the last 'old' wounds that I was living with. I bought a bag, loving the chunks which I've not seen before as cacao is usually shaved or in a block. After finishing my usual cacao I drank Jasper cacao for a few days, noticed the difference and ordered 1kg from the website. It has a more bitter, 'stronger' flavour which I'm getting used to and I love it. I truly believe that it has helped me to come back home (finally!) and to deepen further into a state of bliss. I still drink mine the way I always have, with plant milk and cinnamon, prepared in a milk frother for ease. I have recommended Jasper cacao to a few people who are also enjoying it, one friend in particular has found it hugely beneficial after giving up coffee. Ordering is easy, super fast and efficient delivery. Well packaged and arrived safely. This is THE BEST cacao I’ve ever tasted and as a cacao fascilitator, I have tasted loads. I love the fact it’s 100% organic as I am conscious about what I put in my body. I love the single bean as it’s a pure product. The taste is creamy and the smell is sooooo rich and chocolatey!
